GuruColor v 1.0 6/30/88
≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡≡
HISTORY:
Loving to play around with languages, I found an
interesting little program for Turbo Basic. I've
since modified it a little and made it more useful,
and of course put my moniker all over it. This
program is the current end result.
PRESENT:
GuruColor dinks around a little with your
CGA/EGA/VGA display controller and gives you 8 more
text background colors. This is at the expense of
the blinking characters, but this is no great loss,
as not many people enjoy reading blinking text. To
use these new colors, just address them as the
blinking ones. Many programs will reset the display
and return the blinkers, including MODE.
FUTURE:
Though this program really doesn't have anywhere to
go, I'm going to port it over to Microsoft C 5.1 and
Microsoft MASM, just because the executing program
as it stands is far to large. It should assemble to
about 1K of code; just another reason not to use
BASIC I guess.
MISCELLANEOUS:
If you like (or even dislike) this program, look for
more simplistic Guru Utilities. If you want to find
out how the trick works, look real close at the
interior of the program. GuruColor is released under
FREEWARE concept, if you find it useful, please send
one hundred million dollars to myself, at whatever
address you wish.
